STRATEGIC PLANNING
For over 30 years, Dick DeBlieck has been assisting client organizations with planning. The process begins with an organizational analysis to determine readiness and identify issues of concern that need to be addressed through planning. The planning process is customized to the needs of each client. It will invariably include facilitating the development of the plan as well as creating the means for implementing plans and measuring success.
ORGANIZATIONAL READINESS ANALYSIS
As a leader it can be difficult to be totally objective about oneself or the state of the organization you lead. Organizational analysis is designed to provide feedback to leadership about the state of an organization—its strengths, weaknesses and unique challenges, as well as the perception of leadership strengths and weaknesses. Information gathering, leadership surveys and interviews with key team members provide the foundation for organizational analysis.
STRATEGIC PLANNING FACILITATON
When (and if) the organization is ready to proceed, executive teams will be guided though the process of planning including situational analysis, development of strategies and goals along with implementation planning. While tailored to the needs each client organization, the process typically involves three sesisons over a period of 8 to 10 weeks.
STRATEGIC PLANNING TRAINING
This is an overview of how to do strategic planning. Planning clients will (optionally) participate in this program in advance of actually doing planning. Participants learn how to do situational analysis, scenario planning, develop strategies and goals, establish metrics, communicate plans, and perform detailed execution planning. Terminology is explained as is mission, vision and values (including examples).
STRATEGY EXECUTION SUPPORT
Execution is where most strategic planning efforts break down. Using a proven system of portfolio and program management to guide the executon of strategic initiatives, the executive team and key leaders are coached and supported in their efforts to make plans a reality. Regular team meetings establish the cadence for implemtation efforts as well as sharpen the focus on goals, strategies, progress and the need for corrective action.
EXECUTIVE COACHING
Senior leaders who are challenged by the demands of the role sometimes need to step back and focus on who they are, what they are committed to and gain or re-gain perspective on current challenges and priorities. Executive coaching is designed to give leaders the opportunity to reflect and refocus.
"I first met Dick when he taught a Management Fundamentals workshop for our middle managers. He deservedly got rave reviews from staff. Not only did he have a firm command of the subject matter, he created a great learning experience through his use of examples and engagement of participants in discussions. This guy can teach, and he is a great facilitator!
I was so impressed with Dick’s knowledge and facilitation skills that I asked him to lead the Nexus annual Strategic Planning Retreat. I’ve asked him return to facilitate our Strategic Planning Retreats every year since. He has brought the best out of our staff, and has helped us create a cogent plan that continues to bring our intentions to reality. In the last four years, our company has completed three mergers and doubled its revenues. With Dick’s help, our strategic plans have been effective, and, as a result, we are very well positioned in the marketplace. Dick has my highest recommendation."
